REDUCE OR ELIMINATE YOUR DEPENDENCE ON GLASSES AND CONTACTS WITH LASIK

Have you ever thought about how nice it would be to be able to see clearly without the hassle of contacts or glasses? Or not having to worry about tripping over something in the middle of the night when you get up to get a drink of water or let the dog out? LASIK at Brazos Eye Surgery of Texas can give you that visual freedom!

Laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis, better known as LASIK, received FDA approval in 1998 and is one of the safest and most effective vision correction procedures. Over 10 million people have received LASIK since 1999 and have experienced the benefits of vision correction surgery. Are you ready to experience that for yourself?

What is LASIK?

LASIK is a medical procedure that corrects the irregularities of your cornea. These irregularities are the cause of near and far sightedness, and do not allow your eye to focus light properly. LASIK works by gently reshaping the surface of your cornea, with a laser, into an evenly shaped curve that allows light to pass through to your retina to create crisp, sharp and clear vision.

Is LASIK the Clear Choice for You?

There’s only one way to find out! During your screening evaluation at Brazos Eye Surgery of Texas, Dr. Beau Swann and his team will examine the overall health of your eyes, review your medical history, and perform the most thorough eye exam you’ve probably ever had. If all goes well, you’ll be deemed a candidate and be able to schedule your surgery. There are some conditions which may make you a better candidate for one of our other refractive (think, better vision) procedures such as PRK or an Implant Contact Lens.

The ideal candidate is:

  • At least 18 years of age with one year of a stable prescription
  • Have the proper corneal thickness
  • Exhibit normal corneal topography
  • Have a normal eye exam
