Dr. Russell E. Swann, MD, a distinguished professional with an illustrious career spanning 37 years, announced his retirement from his role as Medical Director and Senior Ophthalmologist at Brazos Eye Surgery in Central Texas in 2021. Throughout his tenure, Dr. Swann has been instrumental in establishing a legacy of exceptional patient care, renowned for its commitment to utilizing state-of-the-art technology and maintaining a highly proficient and compassionate staff.

With expertise focused on comprehensive eye exams, LASIK procedures, and the management of various eye ailments such as glaucoma and injuries, Dr. Swann has consistently provided outstanding service to his patients. His dedication to delivering advanced and cutting-edge treatments has garnered widespread recognition, earning him a well-deserved reputation for excellence within the field.

As he embarks on this new chapter of his life, Dr. Swann takes great pride in the business he has built. Acknowledging the importance of continuity and upholding the high standards he has set, he has chosen to pass the torch to his accomplished sons, Dr. Forrest Beau Swann, as Medical Director and Chief Surgeon and Bradley Swann as the Business Director. By entrusting the business to his capable successors, Dr. Swann ensures that his legacy of exceptional eye care will continue to flourish, providing the local community with the same level of expertise and professionalism for years to come.

Dr. Russell E. Swann’s retirement marks the end of an era at Brazos Eye Surgery. However, his contributions to the field of ophthalmology and the countless patients he has served will always be remembered.
